Good morning dear Ladies ~ Today we have some tips from sister widows. Tips that have helped them and that will help us all as we are on this journey.
Friends Needing Friends is a sisterhood of widows. One widow ‘sister’ helping and and encouraging another. In doing this, we are doing exactly what the Word of God in 2 Corinthians 1:3-5 directs us to do. At each of our meetings we stand and recite these wonderfully uplifting and encouraging verses.
What a wonderful God we have ~
he is the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the source of every mercy,
and the one who so wonderfully
comforts and strengthens us
in our hardships and trials.
And why does he do this?
So that when others are troubled,
needing our sympathy and encouragement,
we can pass on to them
this same help and comfort God has given us.
You can be sure that
the more we undergo sufferings for Christ,
the more he will shower us
with his comfort and encouragement.

When we share our stories, our grief tips and the many ways that God helps us in this journey, we bless and comfort other widows. Each of us has something to share, and who knows better how to share advice to another widow than you. If you have not done so yet, please share tips with us so that we can put them here on the blog.
Thank you.
Today’s Tips

Don’t be hard on yourself if you feel down or cry. There’s much strength to be found in tears. Remember, Jesus wept for Lazarus. God comforts us when we cry. (JB)

Keep healthy! Don’t despair. I didn’t care if I lived or died at that time. Eventually my family, church and friends helped me get through it. It’s been 8 years now and I’m happy to be alive and enjoying my life. God bless you wherever you are. (JS)

Seek out female friends to help you stay active. Be willing to visit Senior Centers and accept invitations to lunch, or a movie, or other activities outside your home. Use any resources available to you. Stay active. (JB)

Exercise, even if you only walk. It really helps relieve the stress. (LR)
